Course Profile
This course is intended for managers and internal occupational health and safety management system auditors.
It is designed to give a practical understanding of the purpose, structure and requirements of OHSAS 18001, the assessment and management of risk including its significance for internal auditing.
It covers the skills needed to carry out OH&S management system audits in accordance with the ISO 19011 auditing standard and interpreting the requirements of OHSAS 18001.
With a mixture of presentation, interactive sessions and active workshops, the course develops the principles and practices of internal OH&S auditing and shows how these can be used to improve the OH&S performance of the organisation.
The learning methods used are highly interactive and allow delegates to learn through active involvement.
This course includes an option for delegates to carry out a photo safari exercise to identify typical risks as well as a live audit of selected processes in the company.
At the end of this course participants will have gained an understanding of how to plan, prepare, carry out and report effective OH&S management system audits. They will also understand the importance of auditing and the part it plays in continual improvement of a management system and the OH&S performance of the organisation.
